Mr. Marlon Nicholas Shirley, age 38, of Fort Lauderdale died suddenly on November 7, 2018 in Tallahassee, Florida while working to provide cleanup for the city following the fatal hurricane that swept through the city.
Born on December 16, 1979 in Kingston, Jamaica a son to Solomon and Janet Blake Shirley. Marlon was employed by his family working for Island Recovery, a company that provides disaster cleanup relief. Marlon was an avid fan of Liverpool Football Club. He loved playing soccer and was a member of the Blazers and Western United club.
He was the very proud father of 4 children whom will forever cherish his memory; Kaleia Shirley, Romaine Shirley, Suria Domervin and Logan Shirley. He also leaves behind siblings, Curtis Shirley, Sheldon Shirley, Tamika Shirley Peters, Samantha Shirley, Amanda Shirley and Racquel Bennett. Special aunt and uncles, Kathy and Rupert Musgrave of Lauderdale Lakes and special cousin Oniel Bromfield, whom he thought of as not only his cousin or his boss but as his own brother. A host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive as well as extended family and friends in Jamaica and Fort Lauderdale.
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 7-9pm at McWhite Funeral Home, 3501 West Broward Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312. Marlon will be buried on December 15, 2018 in Manchester, Jamaica at the family plot.
